BLACKPINK’s Rosé earns high praise after her honest interview about past relationships
During an interview with Apple Music, Rosé was asked about the challenges of writing a song that comes from the heart. The idol honestly shared that it was something he would talk about a lot because he would be “living” with her for years after the relationship and breakup.
It was something that had been living with me for a few years. Personally I don’t think I deserved it, but it was there. Like, today I’m really shocked that I can wake up and be like, “I’m not talking about this anymore” because I’m grateful that I was able to make this album because I was talking about it so much.
– Rose
She explained that even though it wasn’t difficult because she talked about it a lot, she didn’t want her “ex” to know and give credit for it.
When you ask me if it was difficult, it was very easy for me to talk about because it was something I talked about all the time. I would hate it but I would never want the person to know but I would talk about it so much. I don’t want to give credit to the person, but I talk about it and it was the easiest way.
– Rose
Rosé concluded by saying it was something she needed to vent about.
I needed to get this off my chest.

When the video was released, netizens couldn’t stop praising Rosé for her honesty in relationships and how she was breaking K-Pop stereotypes by being so outspoken before her album.
No, but seriously, this is the first time I’ve seen a K-pop idol openly discuss their romantic relationships and publicly share the impact a breakup had on them🤧🤧 pic.twitter.com/owqqXs87ya

What I love most about Rosé’s solo era is that she can speak freely in interviews without being accused of selfishness for “not giving other members a chance to speak,” as often happened during BLACKPINK interviews. https://t.co/i7JWyc8f76 pic.twitter.com/34bI5ibV6N

I love how open it is even though it doesn’t have to be. is breaking boundaries in Kpop, where talking about relationships is taboo https://t.co/bNvgJMDsVJ
