Currently, BLACKPINK has suspended group activities for over a year to allow the members to focus on their solo careers. As of 2024, three out of four members have released solo music, achieving notable success. Lisa, in particular, stood out with three singles: “Rockstar”, “New Woman” and “Moonlit Floor”.
On November 19, Lisa surprised fans by announcing her first solo album, “Alter Ego,” to be released on February 28, 2025. The album will contain 12 tracks.
While many fans have expressed excitement for Lisa’s new project, praising her hard work and dedication, others have expressed concern about its impact on BLACKPINK’s comeback timeline.
To elaborate, YG Entertainment previously stated in September that BLACKPINK would release an album and tour in 2025.
However, with each member eyeing solo projects, fans fear the group’s comeback could face the risks of the day.
Regarding this situation, fans have left comments like the following:
- BLACKPINK took a year off to pursue a solo career, but Jennie and Lisa did not release their albums during that time. At this rate, how will we see BLACKPINK’s return next year?
- I’m seriously worried that there won’t be a comeback next year because the girls will be too busy releasing their solo albums.
- All these solo projects… We won’t see a return from the group until late 2025 or early 2026
- Only Rosé seems to prioritize BLACKPINK, releasing her album in December.
- I expected this when they didn’t give a specific return date, so I’m not shocked
- YG’s promises always turn out to be lies, yet fans continue to believe them
However, some people remain unperturbed, citing Lisa’s previous remarks in her interview with Billboard. Basically, Lisa confirmed BLACKPINK’s plan for a comeback for the group, but expressed doubts when plans for a world tour were mentioned.
Meanwhile, Alice Kang, Lisa’s close friend and staff member at her personal company, LLOUD, then added: “I don’t know. We’ll have to wait and see what YG confirms.
On the other hand, the last time BLACKPINK appeared together publicly was on August 9, at the press event for the documentary “BLACKPINK World Tour: Born Pink in Cinemas” in Seoul. The day before, the group held a private fan meeting to celebrate their eighth anniversary.
Overall, fans are increasingly concerned that the members’ focus on solo careers could push BLACKPINK’s group activities further into the future, leaving the group’s long-term trajectory uncertain.
