BLACKPINK member Jisoo announced through her individual agency the postponement of birthday content in compliance with the national mourning period following the Jeju Air plane crash tragedy.

Jisoo’s agency, BLISSOO, announced the idol’s participation in an Instagram story.

“We express our deepest condolences and sincerest solidarity to all the victims and their families affected by the tragic passenger plane crash over the weekend,” they said.

“We pray for the repose of the deceased, mourning the victims of the Jeju Air tragedy.

“In solidarity with the period of national mourning, the release of birthday content and scheduled social media uploads scheduled for this week have been postponed.”

Following the Jeju Air passenger plane crash on December 29, which killed 179 passengers, South Korea declared a week-long period of national mourning, lasting until midnight on January 4.

Jisoo, whose birthday falls on January 3, had initially planned to launch birthday posts and content as a sign of gratitude to fans.

The singer, who has expanded her repertoire with acting, will have roles in the series Coupang Play Newtopiawhose premiere is scheduled for February 7, 2025.

Jisoo will also appear in the film The omniscient reader’s point of view and the drama Monthly boyfriend.
