In a new episode of the YouTube series Celebrity uploaded on December 12, Kim Ji-yoon made a rare on-camera appearance to address growing curiosity around a story Jisoo once shared about almost suffering a concussion as a child.
Jisoo previously mentioned the accident in a live broadcast, explaining that she was skating down a slope when she fell and hit her head so hard that she couldn’t speak for a while. The anecdote, although shared lightly, has sparked concern and criticism online, with some netizens portraying her sister as negligent.
However, Ji-yoon offered a sincere explanation: “Jisoo was very young and was afraid to go down the hill. She asked me to help her, so I pushed her gently. Unfortunately, she fell and was so shocked that she couldn’t speak. I panicked and thought, ‘What’s her favorite thing? Ice cream!’ I ran to get it, gave it to her and finally she spoke again.”
Kim Ji-yoon pointed out that the story has often been misunderstood or dramatized: “People made it sound like I almost gave her a concussion. I’m not a celebrity, so I never had a platform to explain it. Honestly, it felt really unfair.”
Beyond the incident, the episode also highlighted Ji-yoon’s past as the so-called “Han Hyo-joo from Gunpo” due to her resemblance to the actress. He revealed that he received numerous casting offers in high school, but ultimately chose to pursue academic studies, following his father’s advice.
