On October 16 (KST), the official MV for BLACKPINK’s Jennie’s latest single, “Mantra,” suddenly disappeared from YouTube worldwide.
Additionally, when fans accessed the old MV link, they would see a message saying: “This video contains content from SME, which has blocked it in your country for copyright reasons.”
As a result, many fans urgently contacted Jennie’s agencies, OddAtelier and Columbia Records, asking for a remedy. The MV resumed functioning normally approximately 1 hour after its sudden disappearance.
However, this isn’t the only problem that happens to Jennie when it comes to SNS during her “Mantra” promotion.
Notably, just one day after opening an official account on the SNS X (formerly Twitter) platform, Jennie’s account was suspended. Subsequently, screenshots of a group chat made up of fans of BLACKPINK’s Lisa began to spread. The screenshots include messages from a fan of Lisa’s, who claims to have paid $35 to have Jennie’s account suspended. This shocked many netizens, who can’t believe that fans of a BLACKPINK member would go so far as to hinder Jennie.
On top of that, Jennie suddenly lost access to her Instagram via phone on October 12, leading to speculation about possible hacking attacks.
Meanwhile, Jennie is known to have “eaten up and left no crumbs” with her solo comeback via “Mantra.”
