BLACKPINK’s Jennie Acquires ₩20 Billion Yongsan Building in All-Cash Deal

According to Korea Economic TV and sources from the investment banking (IB) and real estate industries, on February 11, Jennie purchased a building located in Dongbinggo-dong, Yongsan-gu, near the Hannam New Town redevelopment area. The purchase was made in May last year, with the official transfer of ownership in December.

In particular, the registry records show no mortgages or collateral rights connected to the property, leading insiders to believe the transaction was completed entirely in cash.

The building, originally built in 1970, is located in the northern part of Dongbinggo-dong, an area known for its concentration of foreign embassies. The property is currently used as the Iraqi Embassy in South Korea. It stands on a cadastral area of ​​595 m2, for a total floor area of ​​551.08 m2, distributed from a basement to two floors above ground. The estimated price for Pyeong is around ₩111 million.

The Dongbinggo-dong area has recently gained momentum as a prime development zone, supported by the Hannam New Town redevelopment project and the ongoing creation of Yongsan Park. Nearby areas such as Hannam District 5, the former U.S. Army Transportation Corps site, the United Nations Command site, and the planned redevelopment of Camp Kim are collectively considered the three major U.S. military sites returned ready for transformation into luxury residential and commercial developments.
