In a December 1 interview on JTBC’s “Newsroom,” Rosé revealed details about BLACKPINK’s return to the music scene, while also discussing her solo career plans. Notably, Rosé confirmed that BLACKPINK will reunite in 2025, stating: “Next year, we plan to release an album and go on tour.”
Following the female idol’s remarks, YG Entertainment released a video with founder Yang Hyun-suk on December 2, confirming BLACKPINK’s 2025 world tour plans saying: “It’s a significant year because BLACKPINK’s world tour begins.”
However, no specific program was provided.
These announcements reassured many fans, especially after concerns arose when Lisa announced the release of her solo album scheduled for February 2025. Fans were worried that solo activities could delay the group’s reunion.
Now that the confirmation has been made, many fans have expressed excitement online, leaving comments like: “I’m so happy to hear this. They will really be back next year!”, “Thank you Rosé, for confirming it to me”, AND “It looks like it’s been another busy year for our girls. Let’s get our wallets ready!”
However, not everyone is thrilled with the tour schedule. Some fans argue that the group should focus on releasing a full album and promoting it instead of immediately embarking on a tour.
According to these fans, BLACKPINK hasn’t released new music as a group in a long time, which means there are unlikely to be any new performances from the group on the upcoming world tour. Furthermore, some express the hope that the girl group will not tour too many cities, as it will not only drain their energy, but also drastically shorten their promotional period.
On top of that, others criticized YG Entertainment for the vague nature of the announcement, suspecting it to be a marketing ploy.
These people pointed out that YG has a history of failing to meet announced schedules, spotting consistent delays and leading to mistrust.
