BLACKPINK is facing intense backlash following the teaser release of their upcoming MV “Go” and the reveal of the credits for the full album.
Shortly after the teaser was released on YouTube, the group’s official channel shared the tracklist and production details. Fans quickly noticed Dr. Luke’s name listed among the producers of several songs – a revelation that immediately sparked controversy.

Collaboration with Dr. Luke sparks outrage
One of the most talked about songs is “Me and mine”which was partially leaked online days before the official teaser. When netizens discovered Dr. Luke’s involvement in the production credits, criticism erupted on social media platforms.
Dr. Luke, an American producer who has worked with numerous A-list artists, has long been a controversial figure. In 2014, singer Kesha filed a lawsuit seeking to terminate her contract, accusing him of drugging and sexually assaulting her, as well as exerting harmful control over her career. The legal battle lasted years and attracted global attention. Other artists, including P!nk and Kelly Clarkson, have also spoken publicly about their discomfort with past collaborations with him.

The backlash intensified due to one particular lyric by “Me and mine”:
“You know, that’s my girl / When I call her a bitch, it’s a compliment.”
Despite potential contextual interpretations within the song, many Internet users argued that the use of the term “bitch” was inappropriate and degrading, especially when written and produced by an all-male team.

On X (formerly Twitter), numerous posts criticized the production team. One viral comment read: “The people who wrote this are all men,” accompanied by emojis expressing disappointment. Others he described the track as lacking nuance and heavily shaped by a male perspective.

Some fans even urged other BLINKs not to support the comeback. While some expressed disappointment rather than shock, arguing that the group often leaves music production decisions to the company, others questioned why the agency would partner with such a controversial figure.

As of now, the leaked content has reportedly been removed from official channels. Neither BLACKPINK nor YG Entertainment has released an official statement addressing the controversy.
Accusations of “copying” BTS
The controversy didn’t stop at music production. BLACKPINK also presented “Pink Zone”an interactive digital map project highlighting important locations across Seoul. According to the group’s introduction, the initiative is designed to build anticipation for their return through engaging activities tied to the city’s iconic landmarks.

However, shortly after the announcement, a post about X gained traction, claiming similarities between the two “Pink Zone” and BTS “BTS The City: Arirang Seoul” project. BTS’s initiative aims to transform Seoul’s major landmarks into immersive music and multimedia experience zones during the promotional period from March 20 to April 12.

The viral post has surpassed 500,000 views, fueling a heated debate. Some users implied that BLACKPINK launched their project only after BTS revealed it. Others speculated that BTS’ agency intentionally kept the details confidential to avoid potential copycats.

BLACKPINK fans quickly responded to the claims. They supported him “Pink Zone” is not a new concept, noting that the group implemented a similar city-related promotional format during the release of “Jump” in 2025. Supporters also pointed out that city-based promotional campaigns are not the exclusive intellectual property of any individual artist.
As discussions continue in online communities like theqoo and Pann, the situation highlights the intense scrutiny surrounding top-tier K-pop groups.
