On September 11 (local time), BLACKPINK‘S Lisa participated in the MTV Video Music Awards 2024 (also known as The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards). Unfortunately, technically it has sparked a lot of mixed reactions.
Lisa also performed her solo songs “New Woman” and “ROCKSTAR”. This thrilled many fans as she showed off her choreography skills and phenomenal visuals.
However, some netizens criticized the performance. Some suggested that the songs were not well-known enough, while many also accused her of lip-syncing.

But that’s not the only criticism. Lisa won a VMA award for “Best K-Pop” for her song “ROCKSTAR.” She made history as the first soloist to win in 2022, and now she’s the first to win more than once!

However, netizens questioned whether this was deserved, considering that the song is in English and not Korean, and while Lisa is part of the K-Pop group BLACKPINK, she is Thai and this was one of her solo songs.
