BLACKPINK will paint the National Museum of Korea pink later this month as part of a large-scale project marking the release of their comeback EP “Deadline.”

During the event, the exterior of the state museum and its open-air plaza in Yongsan will be lit up in the group’s signature pink, creating a nighttime spectacle for visitors. The lighting is planned as a special event to celebrate both the new release and BLACKPINK’s growing role as cultural ambassadors for Korea, according to the Korea JoongAng Daily.

According to YG Entertainment, this is the first time the National Museum of Korea has carried out a large-scale official collaboration with a K-pop artist. The project is organized in collaboration with global streaming platform Spotify, which will help fuel special listening programs linked to the EP.

BLACKPINK’s “Deadline” is the group’s first EP in more than three years and is positioned as both the finale of their recent world tour and the beginning of a new chapter.

Fans who visit the museum during the promotion will be able to take part in curated musical experiences. A dedicated listening area along a route within the museum, nicknamed the “Path of History”, will allow visitors to listen to the complete album from the moment of its release on February 27 at 2pm. Pre-release listening sessions starting February 26 will give selected attendees, including Spotify Premium users and pre-registered fans, their first chance to hear the songs.

In addition to music, BLACKPINK will also serve as audio guides for eight key artifacts at the museum, recording commentary designed to connect their global fan base with Korea’s cultural heritage.

YG Entertainment described the collaboration as a meeting between a K-pop group that has made global history and an institution that represents the country’s cultural identity.
