BLACKPINK Jisoo has decided to postpone the release of future content, including posts relating to birthdays, in light of the period of national mourning following the tragic Jeju Air Flight 7C2216 accident.
Jisoo’s agency shares a statement about birthday-related posts
On December 31st his agency, BLISSOOshared the news via social media. “Regarding the national tragedy, all planned activities, including Jisoo’s birthday-related content for the January 3rd celebration, will be postponed,” we read in the press release.
“We express our deepest condolences and sincerest solidarity to all the victims and their families affected by the tragic passenger plane crash over the weekend. We pray for the repose of the deceased”, he added.
The decision is in line with the somber mood across South Korea as the nation mourns the devastating loss of 179 lives in the December 29 plane crash. Jeju Air Flight 7C2216traveling from Thailand, tragically collided with the outer wall of Muan International Airportleaving only two survivors with serious injuries. The government declared a national mourning period from 29 December to 4 Januarypushing individuals and organizations to change their schedules as a sign of respect and solidarity. This includes any promotions or celebrations
Despite the postponement, Jisoo also continues to pursue her thriving acting career. His upcoming projects include the highly anticipated drama Coupang Play “Newtopia”, which debuts on February 7, 2025. The upcoming series also recently shared new photos showing the BLACKPINK member as a woman desperately trying to reunite with her boyfriend in the midst of a zombie outbreak.
She is also set to enthrall the audience in the film “The omniscient reader’s point of view” and the drama “Monthly boyfriend.” Jisoo’s projects will also be released later in 2025. Fans have also expressed understanding and admiration for Jisoo’s thoughtful decision during this difficult time.
