Following claims that her biological father had published a long-form novel about BLACKPINK, Jennie has personally addressed the rumors circulating about her family.
Recently, news that PD Kim Hyung Jin, the editor of a fiction work titled “World Informant,” is the father of BLACKPINK Jennie, has spread across various social media platforms. The novel has attracted attention because it contains information about Jennie’s life and her journey with her group.

On September 6, the global idol personally responded to this rumor through his personal agency, ODD ATELIER (OA). In an official statement released by the label, he refuted all the claims, saying:
“Hello, this is OA Entertainment. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the fans who love and care for our artist, Jennie.
Recently, illegally produced publications and fake news containing false information impersonating the artist’s father have been circulating continuously. We want to clarify that these are clearly false facts and have nothing to do with the artist.”

Jennie also warned that she will take legal action against malicious commenters and fake news.
“Please be careful when purchasing illegally produced publications and take special care not to suffer any related damage.
We are taking legal action, such as filing a criminal complaint against the distributors of these materials through our legal representative, on the grounds of defamation by spreading false information, obstruction of business activity, etc.

Finally, the company also addressed issues of fake news and sexual harassment with Jennie, stating:
“Our company is also taking legal action against the author of malicious posts such as defamation, sexual harassment, and malicious slander against our artist. Such acts are criminal offenses, so we will continue to take strong legal action without mercy based on the evidence collected. We will continue to do our best to protect our artists. Thank you.”
After leaving YG Entertainment last year, Jennie founded OA in December and has been focusing on her solo career. She will also be active on the entertainment scene with her appearance on JTBC’s “My Name Is Gabriel” on September 27.
