BJ woman arrested for extorting 800 million won from Kim Junsu

On November 15, the Munhwa Ilbo reported, citing authorities, that the Gyeonggi North Police Agency requested an arrest warrant on November 13 for BJ A, active on Afreeca TV, on charges of blackmail under the law on aggravated punishments for specific economic crimes.

A is accused of extorting about 840 million won (about $630,000) from Kim Junsu in 101 cases from September 2020 to last month.

According to the investigation, A threatened Kim Junsu by recording conversations and sexual encounters and implying that he would distribute them, asking for money to prevent their release. In addition to this case, A is reportedly on trial for drug-related charges in the Seoul Central District Court. The Seoul Eastern District Prosecutor’s Office is also investigating other cases involving A.

A representative from the Gyeonggi Nambu Police Agency said: “It is true that we are investigating BJ A, but since the case is under investigation, we cannot reveal further details.”

On November 15, a representative from Kim Junsu’s agency, Palm Tree Island, released a statement on the matter:

“In this incident, Kim Junsu is the victim. I want to point out that Junsu is not A’s only victim; Many others were also affected by his extortion and threatening behavior. Kim Junsu learned of this and decided to take legal action to prevent further damage.” As the case is currently being heard in court, we cannot provide detailed information. However, we want to reaffirm that Kim Junsu did not commit any illegal or criminal acts in this matter. In this case he is a victim.”

Kim Junsu, who left TVXQ with Kim Jaejoong to form JYJ, recently held a joint concert with Kim Jaejoong. He will appear in the new musical “Aladdin” starting November 22.
