Belift Laboratorythe CEO Kim Tae Ho gave a recent interview to OSEN. During the interview, the CEO covered many topics such as accusations of plagiarism, YOUis the answer to the whole debacle and more.
He was asked if ILLIT had received preferential treatment over New Jeans. Founder of HYBEr Bang Si Hyuk he personally contributed to the production of ILLIT, but was not involved in NewJeans at all. Kim Tae Ho said that it was actually the NewJeans who seemed to have received preferential treatment.
All the staff know that it was actually NewJeans and ADOR that received aggressive support in terms of promotions and brand collaborations. It’s hard for me to even name all the support they’ve received as such.
One of the small examples I can give you is that in our office building in Yongsan, artists need to make reservations to use a shared styling room when they need it. But from the second year onwards, NewJeans had its own exclusive styling room. Whether they have been discriminated against or received preferential treatment, all HYBE staff know it well.
