Taiwanese actress Jenny Cheng found herself at the center of controversy following her steamy appearance in the romantic drama Lost in perfection (人 Floating in Love), where he guest starred alongside Fandy Fan in a provocative bathroom kiss scene.
In the recently aired episode, Fan’s character, drunk at a birthday party, is seduced by Cheng’s character – a plot that quickly shifts from a sneaky kiss at the table to an intense make-out session in the bathroom. The passionate scene, filled with physical closeness, sparked harsh reactions online.

After posting behind-the-scenes clips on her Instagram, Jenny Cheng was met with an unexpected wave of criticism. Some netizens, especially those using anonymous or fake accounts, criticized her with comments such as: “He is a married man – why are you posting this?” implying that his actions were inappropriate.

In response, Cheng issued a cheerful but firm statement:
“This was a scripted guest appearance – what is there to ‘hang on to’? Many actors are married and still do kissing scenes. This is acting.”
He also included a laughing through tears emoji, reflecting both his amusement and frustration at the misunderstanding.

To shed light on the production process, Cheng said the scene was carefully coordinated with a professional intimacy coach.

“Before the shoot, we did trust-building exercises: eye contact, handshakes, then hugs, to create a safe space and mutual understanding”, he explained.
Acknowledging his natural shyness, Cheng admitted that he also drank two shots of alcohol before filming to calm his nerves.

“*I was really nervous!*,” she confessed.

Thanks to the guidance of the intimacy coordinator and the support of the director and co-star Fan, the filming went smoothly. Cheng expressed gratitude for the safe working environment, saying:
“It was a blessing to work with such a professional team. I hope viewers enjoy the performance.”
The scene has since sparked larger online conversations about the professionalism of actors in romantic roles, particularly those involving married celebrities. Cheng’s transparency and measured response have earned her praise from fans who appreciate her dedication to her craft and her handling of online reactions.
