A tragic plane crash at Muan International Airport in South Jeolla Province has left 28 people dead.

On December 29, 2024 (KST) around 9:00 am Jeju water The passenger plane collided with a wall while attempting to land and caught fire.

News reports said the plane was carrying 175 passengers on its way back to Muan after departing Bangkok, Thailand, the same morning. Video captured by witnesses at the scene shows the airport struggling to stop, colliding with a wall and going up in flames with thick black smoke billowing into the sky.

Korean firefighters and other authorities are working on site. Six people, including the captain and crew, were rescued; the exact number of victims is still being assessed.
