Bang Si-hyuk, president of HYBE, narrowly escaped the devastation of the ongoing fires in Los Angeles, which ravaged California. His mansion in the exclusive Bel Air neighborhood was located dangerously close to the fire’s reach, leading to orders to evacuate the area.
Both Bang Si-hyuk and his neighbor, pop icon Beyoncé, who also owns a home in Bel Air, were forced to evacuate. According to reports from The Hollywood journalistBeyoncé and Jay-Z’s family took refuge in Las Vegas during the fires.
The fire, which began on the 7th of the month, spread rapidly due to strong winds, known as the “devil’s wind”, which hit coastal areas of Los Angeles. The fire has spread inland, with some areas of Bel Air under evacuation. The fire destroyed thousands of homes, with the loss of approximately 12,000 homes and buildings, leaving hundreds of thousands of people displaced. The Associated Press reported that this was the largest urban fire to occur in California in 40 years.
Many high-profile celebrities lost their homes in this catastrophic fire, including former Major League Baseball player Park Chan-ho, whose Beverly Hills residence was destroyed. Other stars interested include Mel Gibson, Will Smith, Paris Hilton, Gerard Butler, Mandy Moore, Neil Young and Mark Hamill.
Bang Si-hyuk’s Bel Air mansion, which he purchased through his private real estate company, Bel Air Stradella LLC, was purchased for $26.4 million. The villa is located in one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in the United States.
The villa, purchased in 2022, extends over 309 square meters on three floors. It includes six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a library, gym, infinity pool, sauna, rooftop terrace and outdoor kitchen, all luxurious amenities. Bang Si-hyuk is believed to have purchased the property to expand his music network and projects in the United States, with HYBE America’s office located nearby.
