The group of girls from YG Entertainment Babymonster has reached an important mile Dripmarking their first million seller record.
The company revealed that the album reached 1,011,352 cumulative sales on the Hanteo ranking from 27 June, about seven months after its release on 1 November 2024.
The result represents a significant growth for the group of seven members, who officially debuted in April 2024 with their mini-album Babymons7er. THE Drip The album demonstrated the growing popularity of the group of sale 677,961 copies in its first week, which represent an increase of 1.7 times compared to the initial sales of their debut album of 401,287 copies. Within a week from the release, the total orders reached about 820,000 copies, almost doubled the sales performance of their previous version.
The success of Babymonster extends beyond the sales of albums in the performance of the international ranking. THE Drip The album entered the United States ranking Billboard 200 at n. 149, marking their first appearance in the prestigious ranking. The track of the “drip” title has reached new best best reaching n. 16 on Billboard Global Excl. US Clat and n. 30 On the Billboard Global 200. The album also passed the iTunes album charts in 14 regions and the first place on the album music of Japan Top 100 Real-time Chart was ensured.
The presence of streaming of the group was equally impressive. On YouTube, the music video “Drip” hit the number one in the “most displayed videos within 24 hours” at the time of release. The pre-advertised track “Click Clack” has maintained its position in the top 10 of the popular graphic graphics Global Youtube Daily for four consecutive days, accumulating over 60.07 million views. On Spotify, “Drip” traced the global ranking of the Daily Top Songs, reaching a top position of 109th place.
Babymonster is made up of seven members: Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Ahyeon, Rora, Haram and Chiquita, which represent Korean, Thai and Japanese nationality. The group is the first group of YG Entertainment girls in seven years from Blackpink. Initially they debuted as a group of six members in November 2023 with “Batar Up” due to the temporary absence of Ahyeon for health reasons, before officially launching a complete group of seven members in April 2024.
THE Drip The album presents nine tracks, including double -titled tracks “Clik Clak” and “Drip”, together with “Love, perhaps”, “Really like you”, “billionaire”, “Love in My Heart”, “Wake Up in Tokyo”, “Forever” and “Batter Up (Remix)”. Sector analysts attribute Babymonster success to their ability to live live and the expansion of the base of global fans through the tours of fans’ meetings. The group has plans for continuous activities in the second half of 2025, including new single releases and their first world tour, which should further accelerate their growth of popularity.
