Ao Ruipeng’s shy kiss scene with Bai Lu goes viral in “White Moon Brahma Star”

The fantasy drama White Moon Brahma Star has attracted attention not only for its plot but also for a behind-the-scenes moment involving its two lead actors, Bai Lu and Ao Ruipeng.

The series marks the first collaboration between Bai Lu and Ao Ruipeng. It tells the story of Bai Shuo, a mortal woman played by Bai Lu who begins a cultivation journey to repay a debt of gratitude. Along the way he meets Fan Yue, the powerful demon king played by Ao Ruipeng. Initially suspicious of his intentions, the two characters gradually overcome numerous trials and develop romantic feelings as they battle supernatural threats together.

In the drama, Bai Shuo must gather the powers of love, hate, murder, greed and kindness to activate a mystical artifact known as the Five Thought Stone. Her journey takes her through multiple locations such as Ning’an City, Yiren City, Jingyou Mountain, Stone City, and Bodhi Village, where she faces several challenges while searching for the five energies.

Aside from the plot, Bai Lu’s character also received praise for her wide variety of costumes throughout the drama. The actress appears in multiple styles, from elegant and delicate dresses to striking red ensembles and even a playful fox-inspired look. Ao Ruipeng jokingly said that he is envious of her constantly changing wardrobe, describing her costumes as “magnificent and luxurious”, while humorously referring to his as “tattered clothes”.

Although it was their first time working together, the two stars quickly developed a friendly relationship on set. Behind-the-scenes footage often shows them joking and teasing each other. Bai Lu even jokingly grabbed Ao Ruipeng by the back of the collar in one clip, prompting the actor to joke that he felt like he had aged ten years working with her because he was constantly “picked on.”

One particular moment that caught viewers’ attention was the dramatic kiss scene where Ao Ruipeng’s character bravely approaches Bai Lu and kisses her. While the scene looked safe on screen, filming proved difficult for the actor. The director also showed him what the moment should look like and jokingly teased him for not being “energetic enough,” implying that he seemed inexperienced. In the end, Bai Lu helped guide him through the scene so that they could successfully complete the shot.

The fun behind-the-scenes stories and playful chemistry between the actors have increased the drama’s popularity as “White Moon Brahma Star” continues to air on Taiwan’s CTI Entertainment.
