On September 23 (local time), the cameras captured the reluctant reaction of the First Lady Trump during the speech of the American president Donald Trump at the United Nations General Assembly.
While Trump delivered observations on immigration, war and dismissal of climate change such as “buffalo”, Melania sat in the public with his disgusting aspect of regret and detachment.
When Trump concluded his speech with the words “God can bless the nations of the world”, the leaders of the world and the officials of the United Nations headquarters have made an applause. Melania, however, remained firm, the left arm resting on the chair, appearing completely disconnected from those around her.
It was not until a man sitting in front of her aimed a camera in his direction in which he applauded himself reluctantly a few times, all while maintaining his unexpressive face of the brand.
This is far from Melania’s restless behavior towards Trump has been on display during official events. During the first presidential mandate of Trump, the cameras captured it notoriously when he looked at it, just to have his expression he fades instantly once he walked away. Other viral moments include she who seems visibly irritated during public conversations with him, refusing to take his hand on a red carpet and showing signs of exasperation to official ceremonies.
The clips of these moments have become viral on YouTube under titles such as “Melania who did not want to be First Lady” or “Melania’s memes you look when you’re down.”
However, Melania is not always solemn. During his 2017 visit to South Korea, he actively engaged in a campaign of embassies with students, smiling warmly, especially when he greets Minho from the K-Pop Shinee group. At the end of the first term of Trump, while the couple came out of the White House, Melania was also seen by radiating joy, greeting those who surround her with perhaps her most brilliant public smile ever.
