Choi soon Hwaan 81-year-old Korean model, made history as the oldest contestant to ever participate in the Miss Universe Korea pageant.
The show, held on September 30 KST, at a Seoul hotel, saw Choi walk across the stage in an embellished white dress, shaking her short silver hair. As part of the talent round, he performed a singing competition.
Despite competing against significantly younger women, Choi managed to snag a spot among the finalists with 31 other competitors. Even though she narrowly missed out on the winning title, she still took home the “Best Dresser” award.
Choi Soon Hwa was a former hospital worker who began her modeling career in her 70s. His goal with this competition was to push himself and have a challenging experience.
