WINNER’s Song Mino has been discharged from mandatory military service.
It was announced that the idol ended its service at the Mapo Community Service Center in Seoul on December 23, in a report from OSEN.
Song entered the New Army Training Center on March 24, 2023, receiving basic military training and finished his service with community service as a form of alternative service as a social worker.
The idol was recently investigated due to allegations that he had manipulated his service attendance records, which were clarified after a community service employee revealed that Song was having difficulty performing his service traditionally due to problems with Health.
Following allegations that the singer failed to show up for work after taking a nearly week-long trip to Hawaii in late October, his company YG Entertainment released a statement.
“The reason for the sick leave is the extension of the treatment he received before service,” they said.
“All other days off, etc. were used in accordance with all regulations.”
Amid Mino’s controversy, WINNER bandmate Kang Seung Yoon ended his military service, having enlisted in June 2023, becoming the only member of the group to serve in the military.
Kang received awards for his outstanding service, including commendations as an outstanding recruit, awards in book reviews and essay contests, as well as an early promotion to the rank of corporal.
With Mino’s discharge, all members of WINNER completed their mandatory military service.
