After dominating weekday TV ratings for seven consecutive weeks, SBS’s Wednesday-Thursday drama Dynamite kiss will air its final episode on December 25, capping off a highly successful series.
Starring Jang Ki Yong and Ahn Eun Jin, the drama will conclude with episode 14 airing at 10pm KST, a later time slot than usual due to SBS’s year-end programming schedule.
According to Nielsen Korea, episode 13, which aired on December 24, recorded a domestic rating of 5.9%, peaking at 6.8%. This performance secured the drama the top spot in its timeslot and marked its seventh consecutive week as the top weekday drama.
Dynamite kiss tells the story of Go Da Rim, a single woman who disguises herself as a mother to secure a job, and Gong Ji Hyuk, a foreman who unexpectedly falls in love with her. The drama premiered to a modest 4.5% rating, but has steadily climbed into the 6-7% range, signaling a revival of weekday dramas.
Its success has added significance, as it is SBS’s first regular Wednesday-Thursday drama in six years, following the end of Secret boutique in 2019.
In addition to domestic success, the drama has also achieved impressive results globally. It ranked first in Netflix’s non-English TV category for two consecutive weeks, topping the charts in 47 countries, including Brazil and Chile, between November 24 and December 7.
Much of the drama’s popularity has been attributed to its fast-paced storytelling and the strong on-screen chemistry between Jang Ki Yong and Ahn Eun Jin. Their emotionally nuanced performances during moments of separation and reconciliation resonated deeply with viewers. The duo also ranked first and second respectively in the FUNdex Most Interesting Actors in Television Series for two consecutive weeks.

In recent episodes, Go Da Rim falsely broke up with Gong Ji Hyuk to protect him after being framed as an industrial spy. Refusing to give up, Gong Ji Hyuk discovered evidence to clear his name and reunited with her, leading to a tense and emotionally charged final chapter.
The final preview further heightened anticipation by teasing a major crisis involving Gong Ji Hyuk, with Go Da Rim seen running through the hospital corridors calling his name, leaving viewers anxious but hopeful for a happy ending.
The production team shared, “Gong Ji Hyuk and Go Da Rim will reunite at the place where they first fell deeply in love. This scene will serve as a defining moment in their relationship. Please stay with us until the end for Jang Ki Yong and Ahn Eun Jin’s heartfelt, emotional and unforgettable performance.”
The final episode of Dynamite kiss airs on Christmas Day, December 25, promising to deliver a meaningful and emotional conclusion – and what many hope will be the perfect Christmas present for viewers who have been following the drama for the past seven weeks.
