aespa’s Giselle and RIIZE’s Wonbin were first discovered in a dating rumor in July 2024 after former trainee Han Seo Hee, known for revealing industry secrets, posted a photo of the two idols together.
In the photo, the backs of a man and a woman, said to be in their 20s, were spotted walking through the streets late at night. Although it was difficult to confirm their identity, Han made a controversial statement about it.
“Wonbin started dating Aespa Giselle when they were interns, for her money. I have the photo captured by an anti,” he wrote, according to a media report.

At the time, MYs (aespa fans) and BRIIZEs (RIIZE fans) dismissed the rumor and called it unfounded given Han Seo Hee’s infamy.
However, six months later, Giselle and Wonbin were once again speculated to be in a relationship due to their individual messages. Notably, in their recent lyrics, both idols replaced the word 알게찌 (allgetji) with 알겠찌 (allgejji), which is the cute version of the slang phrase “(Do you) understand?”
These are not formal expressions in South Korea and are barely used because they are considered incorrect.
In addition to this, Wonbin and Giselle also inserted the “ung” sound to most of their sentences to make them cuter, but fans raised their suspicions as this is also rare to use in South Korea as it doesn’t have a certain meaning.
This time, K-Netizens are considering that the dating rumors might be true. They expressed their feelings through the online forum, Nate Pann.
“This is the first time I’ve seen this kind of talk,” one commenter said.
“When I’m around someone I like, I start to resemble them in the way they talk. It’s similar to that,” the user agreed.
“I don’t really believe in stuff like that, but this looks really interesting,” another fan wrote.
“Honestly, who would talk like that? I would understand if they were dating, but don’t show it to your fans, these idols,” criticized one netizen.
