An actress’s reaction to an actor’s behavior has sparked mixed reactions from Internet users.
THE Venice Film FestivalOR Venice International Film Festivalis an annual film festival held in Venice, Italy. This year, the event took place from August 28 to September 7, and stars from all over the world attended. One of these stars was the Chinese actress Zhang Ziyiwho gained international recognition for his performance in the martial arts film wuxia Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
To the 81st Venice International Film Festival, Zhang Ziyi presented the Volpi Cup for “Best Actor” to Vincent Lindona veteran French actor and director, for his performance in The Silent Son film. As he received the award, Zhang offered Lindon his hand to shake.
Lindon then kissed Ziyi once on each cheek and posed briefly with her on stage for photos.
Some netizens felt that Zhang seemed uncomfortable during the interaction, especially after the second kiss on the cheek…
…and when Lindon moved his arm behind her.
Other netizens, however, have come to Lindon’s defense, saying that cheek kisses are a standard European greeting, nothing more.
