Actress Lee Si Young gave birth to her second child, a baby girl, months after her divorce, and her choice of a high-end postpartum care center has become a major talking point in Korea.
On Nov. 5, Lee shared several photos on her social media account, announcing the birth with an emotional caption: “I believe this child is a gift from God. I will make sure Jungyoon and Siksiki are happy forever. I am deeply grateful to Professor Won Hyesung and will never forget this gratitude.”
Accompanying photos showed Lee holding her newborn daughter in the hospital, as well as a touching photo of her first child, Jungyoon, looking proud and kind like a new big brother.
She also posted a photo of her baby’s tiny hand holding hers, captioned “Hello, my little angel.”
Lee Si Young married a restaurant entrepreneur nine years her senior in 2017 and gave birth to her first child the following year. However, after eight years of marriage, the couple officially divorced in March 2025.
Following the separation, controversy erupted when it was revealed that Lee had proceeded to implant a frozen embryo created during her marriage, without her ex-husband’s consent. At the time, the five-year limit on embryo storage was about to expire, leading Lee to decide between disposal or implantation.
Despite divided public reaction, Lee’s agency clarified that no illegal procedures were involved, and her ex-husband later stated that he would fulfill his responsibilities as a father to their second child.
After stabilizing her pregnancy, Lee shared positive updates over the summer, including a trip to the United States with her son and the announcement that she was expecting a baby girl named “Siksiki.”
On November 5, a representative of The axle factory confirmed to OSEN: “Actress Lee Si Young recently gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Both mother and baby are resting and recovering well. She plans to resume activities once she fully regains her health.”
Fans also noticed Lee’s surroundings in the photos, which appeared to be taken at a luxury postpartum care center in Seoul’s Yeoksam-dong district.
