Actor Yoo Ah In, real name Uhm Hong Sik, sold his house in Itaewon in Seoul’s Yongsan district to a seven-year-old boy amid his ongoing drug testing.
The house was sold for 6.3 billion won (~$4,300,840). The child paid for the house up front in cash, with no loans or mortgages.
According to the property registry, Yoo Ah In transferred the ownership rights of the house to seven-year-old Park, born in July 2017.
The home’s sales contract was signed on November 20, with the transfer of ownership finalized on November 19.
The child is said to be the son of a couple of fashion brand CEOs, with the address given during property registration matching the couple’s residence.
Yoo Ah In had previously showcased the Itaewon house on MBC’s entertainment program “I Live Alone” before putting it up for sale.
Although the house had been valued higher, around KRW 8 billion (about $5,461,150), it sold for a lower price.

Yoo is also accused of obtaining over 1,100 prescription sleeping pills from another person from May 2021 to August 2022. Additionally, the actor faces charges of smoking marijuana three times in the United States in January this year.
The prosecution, in the second hearing of Yoo’s trial, asked for a four-year prison sentence, while Yoo’s defense appealed.

The next sentencing in Yoo’s trial is scheduled for February 18, 2025.
