NCT Haechan‘s recent teaser photos have attracted attention for all the wrong reasons.
For Haechan fans (or those who aren’t), one thing that has always stood out about him besides his talent is his visuals. The idol has become more and more beautiful as the years have passed and has always managed to attract attention.
One aspect of her images that fans love is her skin tone. Haechan has a tanner skin tone, sometimes described as “honey”, which, when appropriately accentuated, makes him stand out even more.
Recently, however, photos of the idol were released and went viral for modifying his skin.
Earlier this month, NCT DREAM announced that they would be returning with a new album titled Dream landscape and we started releasing related teasers.

The first set of Haechan teasers show the idol in a construction-like setting, and while they are edited, they do not show his altered skin tone.
On October 30, the next set of teaser photos showing the members on the street was released. Haechan’s photos, while cute, almost look like they belong to a different person, showing the idol with a much lighter complexion.
The tweet featuring these images has gone viral, with over 1.4 million views at the time of writing. Many in the quotes, while appreciating Haechan’s good looks, questioned why he had been “whitewashed” in the photos, even correcting the tone to match his actual skin tone.
I fixed it for you
Stop whitewashing idols and overexposing photos 😭😭 https://t.co/AUAbJaU9bE pic.twitter.com/9Sam8RsVcy— Dear 🍒 (@nayutahope) October 30, 2024
some of the most diabolical whitewashing I’ve seen in a long time, honestly it’s absurdly bad https://t.co/us4oCEHWq4

I get that the color palette is nice and desaturated but the whitewashing is getting out of hand https://t.co/pQEpjovBng
