The drama, set in the 1990s, required meticulous attention to period-appropriate fashion. Kim Sung-ryung shared: “I did extensive research on 90s fashion, especially retro styles. Kim Sung-ryung’s personal touch was evident in his portrayal of Geum-hee. He noted: “There is no such thing as 100% acting. I think part of who I am is rooted in Geum-hee. Even if it’s not in the dialogues or the acting, there is my essence in the atmosphere it gives off.”

Kim Sung-ryung also elaborated on Geum-hee’s position within the Bangpan Sisters. He said: “Although she is the older sister, I wanted her to step back and play a supporting role. I wanted him to be a reliable person, who stood silently next to others. I’ve developed a habit of not standing out as I get older. I constantly think, ‘How can I avoid being seen as bossy?’ This self-awareness makes me more cautious. I think it’s better for someone in my position to take a step back rather than be at the forefront. That’s being an adult, right?
