A man in his 40s was caught after secretly entering and staying inside HYBE headquarters for 3 days

CCTV footage shows he walked through the main entrance at around 4pm that day and sat on a chair in the lobby for around an hour. He then used the underground parking elevator, which does not require passing through a security door, to enter the building.

Taking advantage of the poor security, the man bypassed a glass security door and wandered between the 3rd and 18th floors, remaining inside the building for two nights and three days.

On September 8, a HYBE employee noticed the man wandering on the 5th floor and reported him to the police. Officers arrived and arrested him around 6.30pm the same day. The man is accused of unauthorized entry into the premises.

During the investigation, the police discovered that the man was unemployed and had not stolen anything or carried any weapons.

He reportedly ate and slept in the canteen used by HYBE trainees and employees.

A police representative said: “The man is making inconsistent statements and we are investigating his motives based on available evidence.”

HYBE said“We confirmed the illegal entry and reported it to the police. We are cooperating fully with the investigation to ensure that a severe punishment is applied.”
