According to a local media report in Hong Kong, a teenage girl, known as A, was excited to hear that Lisa would hold a fan meeting on the 19th in Hong Kong. A, an avid fan of Lisa, asked her father B to buy a ticket. Wanting to fulfill his daughter’s wish, B quickly purchased tickets. However, the note he handed her was not for BLACKPINK’s Lisa.
Instead, B had bought a ticket to a concert by Liza Wang, a 77-year-old veteran singer and actress from Hong Kong, mistaking her for K-pop star Lisa. Not being familiar with K-pop and BLACKPINK, B heard “Lisa” and thought of the famous star of her own generation. Coincidentally, Liza Wang also had an upcoming concert, making her tickets easily available.
This fun concoction was shared on a local Facebook page on the 29th of last month, going viral on Hong Kong social media. Many netizens were amused, commenting, “She must have been surprised to see Liza Wang instead of Lisa” and “Maybe the father wanted to share a concert experience with his daughter with a star he knew.”
Fortunately, B was able to get the correct ticket for Lisa’s fan meeting, allowing A to attend Lisa’s event and at the same time enjoy Liza Wang’s concert with her father.
Lisa’s fan meeting will take place at AsiaWorld-Arena in Hong Kong, while Liza Wang’s concert will be held at Hong Kong Coliseum.
Meanwhile, Lisa recently cemented her global stardom by winning “Best K-pop” at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards and showing off last month at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in New York, where she opened the event alongside icons pop Cher and Tyla, even making a grand entrance on a motorcycle and performing her hit song “ROCKSTAR.”
