In the past, due to proximity, K-Pop groups occasionally made stops in Russia. However, since Russia invaded Ukraine, this has no longer been the case.

On February 24, 2022, Russia escalated the ongoing war by invading Ukraine, resulting in the deaths of tens of thousands of civilians. The conflict is still ongoing, with more than 8 million Ukrainians fleeing the country in what has been Europe’s largest conflict since World War II.

With Russia having begun invading, many fans expressed discomfort with the group performing in the country. Additionally, Moscow was recently targeted by a Ukrainian drone attack in which one woman was killed and three were injured, as well as damaging dozens of homes.

The location where the drone strike occurred is just 64 km (about 39.75 miles) from where CIX is scheduled to perform.

Moscow was previously isolated from attacks, but Ukraine has launched drone missions venturing deeper into the country.

Fans aimed their criticism at the company, questioning their decision for the group. By sending the group into the country, some fear the company is demonstrating implicit acceptance of what is happening and not directing complaints against innocent civilians.
