On January 13, ADOR announced that it had filed an injunction against members of NewJeans for “Preserving Management Agency Status and Prohibiting Independent Advertising Contracts.” This move was made to affirm the agency’s status as outlined in the exclusivity contract until the first trial verdict on the validity of the contract is pronounced.

Regarding the injunction, ADOR explained: “This decision was made to avoid confusion and harm to third parties, such as advertisers, due to members unilaterally declaring the termination of the exclusivity contract and attempting to independently contact and sign contracts with advertisers.”

After wrapping up their Japanese program in early December last year, the NewJeans left the dorm provided by ADOR. Although they acted as partners to the ADOR for contract matters, they reportedly used individual transportation to meet at the ADOR for schedules and returned home individually after finishing their commitments.

It was also reported that, after NewJeans’ departure from the dormitory, a HYBE employee attached a camera to inspect the dormitory, preparing for further developments. Meanwhile, many directors and managers who previously worked with NewJeans under ADOR reportedly resigned recently.

With this situation ongoing, the court’s decision is expected to have a significant impact on the future of both NewJeans and ADOR.

Meanwhile, NewJeans’ planned activities have been halted due to the dispute with their agency, and no concrete plans have yet been announced for this year. ADOR said they have already planned activities for the year, including the release of a full album and meetings with fans. They expressed a desire to fully communicate with members.

Fans eagerly await how and when NewJeans will reconnect with them.
