The most recent documents mentioned four groups.
Further parts of ILLIT’s debut plans would reveal comments about other girl groups.
Recently, obtained programmatic documents from the beginnings of ILLIT and New Jeans have fueled accusations against Belift Laboratory – not only of plagiarism of NewJeans but also of alleged fraud in the formation of ILLIT.
Belift Lab denied these claims but faced criticism following the revelation of further details, including the use of BLACKPINK‘S Jenny in the group’s pre-debut photographic mood board.
BLACKPINK Jennie’s inclusion in ILLIT’s debut plans goes against Belift Lab’s previous denial of plagiarism
The document also mentioned other groups by name, explaining why they would not influence the ILLIT concept. ITZY AND (G)I-DLE they were mentioned together as their concepts were “aggressive with their ‘we’re different’ or ‘follow us'”.
The Aespa concept was said to be “a little too flashy and exaggerated” to be copied, while the concept of STAYC, although familiar, was not “one that anyone would want to copy.”
- NOT ITZY/(G)I-DLE: These two are aggressive with their “We’re different” or “Follow us” concepts.
- NOT aespa: their concept is a little too flashy and exaggerated to be copied in real life.
- DON’T STAYC: Their concept is familiar but not particularly one that anyone would want to copy.
It is worth noting that this format is similar to the part of ILLIT’s debut plan revealed in Belift Lab’s previous plagiarism denial video. In this video, Belift Lab mentions New Jeans, BLACKPINKAND IVEalthough more complementary terms were used for the latter two groups.
