The condom brand apologized after the incident with Eric “Pepero Condom” of the Boyz

Earlier, on the morning of the 11th, Eric shared a post with a photo on The Boyz’s official X account to celebrate Pepero Day. However, the item in the photo was not a chili pepper snack but rather a condom designed to look like chili pepper boxes.

Eric quickly deleted the post and later explained to fans that he had no idea and had simply taken the product from a convenience store display.

In response, later that afternoon, the condom manufacturer issued a formal apology on its official Instagram account, saying: “We sincerely apologize for the confusion caused.”

The brand said: “We created this adorable set as a product for a special event called LOVE DAY 11.11, especially for November 11th. We are aware of comments that say: “I bought this thinking it was Pepero”, “Why make adult products so cute?” and “Barun Saenggak should apologize.” We apologize; this was entirely our responsibility.

The company added: “Our brand activities aim to reduce negative perceptions when purchasing or owning contraceptives. The condoms included in this product are considered medical devices, not adult products, and can be purchased by adolescents. If our product can raise awareness, we will take all responsibility for this incident.”

The company also expressed hope that this incident will foster open-mindedness towards contraception, making such products part of everyday life while promoting healthy attitudes towards sexual health. They apologized once again to anyone who may have been confused by the product.

Finally, they added, “We also extend our sincere apologies to GS25 store managers who may have mistakenly displayed the product in the snack aisle instead of the appropriate section.”
