Fans urge JTBC to apologize to Jessi.
Soloist Jessi has recently been at the center of controversy.
The incident occurred on September 28, KST, in Gangnam, Seoul, when an underage fan approached Jessi for a photo and was assaulted by a man believed to be an acquaintance of the singer. CCTV cameras captured the incident and JTBC released footage to the public. While Jessi appeared to intervene briefly to stop the incident before walking away, many criticized her for overlooking responsibility in that situation since it was linked to her.
However, fans defended Jessi, as it was revealed that the man who assaulted the underage fan was practically a stranger to her. Singer ØHENRYwho was present that night, came forward as a witness and underlined his innocence.
Although Jessi continually apologized, she was arraigned on charges of intimidation and accused of helping the suspect escape. On October 16, he had to appear for interrogation at the Gangnam Police Station.
Recently, Jessi was acquitted of the charges. The investigation failed to find any plausible evidence of Jessi’s involvement in the attack. Police found no evidence that she threatened the victim or helped the suspect escape.
Now, it has been reported that the footage previously released by JTBC citing a lot of hatred towards Jessi has been edited. It didn’t show the whole situation and Jessi had actively tried to stop the incident.
I wish I had been surprised @JTBC_news /@jtbc_saban he altered the footage to conduct the witch hunt against Jessi.
1. The victim was out smoking with friends at 3 in the morning
2. He clearly didn’t leave immediately when she said no
3. #Jessi I really tried to break up the argument— Writer 🍭 (@Skrywer01) November 7, 2024
Netizens accuse JTBC of deceptively editing the footage to make Jessi look bad. They are urging JTBC to apologize.
The CCTV footage was EDITED by kmedia to make it appear as if Jessi left the scene when that was NOT true. Fortunately, the truth only goes one way.
