She was reported on two charges.
The Seoul Gangnam Police Station has concluded its investigation into the singer Jessi in relation to an assault involving a minor fan.
The incident occurred on September 28, KST, in Gangnam, Seoul, when a fan approached Jessi for a photo and was attacked by a man believed to be an acquaintance of the singer. The incident was captured on CCTV and the footage was later released to the public by JTBC. Jessi was seen trying to intervene briefly before leaving, which led many to criticize her for neglecting her responsibility in that situation.
On the other hand, fans defended her staunchly, especially after it emerged that the man who had attacked the underage fan was practically a stranger to Jessi. Singer ØHENRYwho was also part of the group Jessi was hanging out with that night, came forward as a witness and underlined her innocence.
Following the incident, Jessi was charged with intimidation and accused of helping the suspect escape. Finally, on October 16, he had to appear for interrogation at the Gangnam police station.
The investigation, however, found no plausible evidence of Jessi’s involvement in the attack. Police found no evidence that she threatened the victim or helped the suspect escape. They therefore decided not to proceed with charges.
Meanwhile, producer Koala, accused of threatening the underage fan, will face assault charges. The prime suspect, a Taiwanese national identified as “A,” has reportedly left South Korea.
