The Ace Factory agency announced on November 5: “Lee Jong-suk has confirmed his appearance in tvN’s new drama ‘Seocho-dong’ (written by Lee Seung-hyun and directed by Park Seung-woo).This marks Lee Jong-suk’s return to viewers since his last drama, MBC’s “Big Mouth,” which aired in 2022.
“Seocho-dong” is about the clerks who go to work in the law city of Seocho-dong every day. The story, written by a practicing lawyer, will describe the growth of lawyers who handle events that may occur in our daily lives and in our environment.
In the drama, Lee Jong-suk plays the role of Ahn Joo-hyung, a 9-year-old lawyer. Ahn Joo-hyung is a character who became a lawyer simply because he found logic and cases interesting; he is a 9-year-old clerk who initially does not embody the idea that lawyers protect the weak, uphold justice or change the world.
Having worked in the same company for nine years without changing jobs, Ahn Joo-hyung handles the job perfectly, commensurate with his seniority. However, he is also a partner who is too lazy to open his own firm. For him, the quiet workplace he has known is starting to show signs of cracks.
“Seocho-dong” will be directed by Park Seung-woo, who previously directed dramas such as “Kairos” and “Adamas.” He and Lee Jong-suk had collaborated once before on “W,” where he provided a role that earned Lee Jong-suk first prize. Attention is focused on whether this meeting will create another synergy.
The production of “Seocho-dong” will be broadcast on tvN in the first half of 2025.
