Fans are showing support for a member of a popular Filipino girl group and coming to her defense after intense criticism.
BINI is a beloved P-Pop group consisting of eight members: Instead, Package, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Not at all, JoannaAND Sheena. Since their debut in 2019, BINI has risen to fame, topped the charts and graced the covers of popular magazines. Unfortunately, the group’s skyrocketing popularity has also led to an increase in hate comments from netizens.
Maloi recently came under fire for promoting an item of official BINI merchandise: a shopping bag that she described as functional, sturdy and comfortable. “Perfect” accessory for her coordinated outfit. “If you get this, you will be BINified,” Maloi said. “So what are you waiting for? Get yours now. Buy now!”
In the comments section of Maloi’s TikTok, which has since been shut down, some netizens criticized the bag but also the idol for promoting it.

Since then, fans have defended Maloi on various social media platforms and shared their opinions on both the situation and the bag.

A TikTok user, @gelo.lasinhe compared the stock market to a litmus test for “how much management can milk their fandoms. He went on to describe it as a “rubbish bag” with the BINI logo slapped on it and expressed sympathy for Maloi. He said: “It appears she was held at gunpoint while trying to support this thing. Like other fans, @gelo.lasin also argued that BINI management or whoever designed the bag should be the one receiving criticism for this, not Maloi.
