“You can see he’s so uncomfortable…”
Korean comedian, actor and YouTuber Luna Sang Hoon (known for cameo roles in shows such as Lawyer extraordinaire Woo) was hit with criticism for cultural appropriation in an exchange with espa‘S Gisella.
Recently, Giselle and Karina appeared on Moon Sang Hoon’s YouTube channel and there was a scenario of school environment and teachers.
At one point, Karina left, leaving Giselle and Sang Hoon together to continue the skit.
During the video, Giselle showed off her multilingual skills by suddenly switching from Korean to Japanese…
Before suddenly switching to fluent English.
Moon Sang Hoon then switched to English, using phrases that quickly sparked anger among fans.
Most fans couldn’t help but praise Giselle for her speaking skills.

However, many netizens responded to Moon Sang Hoon for his response because it had a “Blaccent” (Imitating the way black people speak) all over it.
Fans shared their anger at how normal this sort of thing seems and how the actor immediately switched to an accent when it came to speaking English. Others also pointed out how Giselle was unresponsive and even seemed uncomfortable in the interaction.

South Korea’s obsession with African-American culture needs to be studied. they take what they want but at the same time they will not hesitate to despise any person of color. what’s worse is that it’s normalized to the point that they won’t find any fault in this video. https://t.co/QW7fY7gVnC

it’s impossible for them to just greet each other like a normal person, because you have to immediately activate the forced white stereotype https://t.co/wQiRcX3pLR pic.twitter.com/dlKuECmavq
