Kim Wooseok behaves “embarrassingly” with girlfriend Kang Na Eon during first public appearance: here’s why

After going public, X1 exes Kim Wooseok (27) and Kang Na Eon (23) made their first official appearance at the event as a couple.

But… why did they look awkward?

On October 25, Wooseok and Na Eon’s relationship was revealed by the media. The couple reportedly developed feelings for each other while filming their upcoming drama, “Social Savvy Class 101,” which will air on Nov. 10.

Before its release, the cast met with the press during a production conference on October 29 held at Ilchi Art Hall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

Since this was also Kim and Kang’s first event as a couple, there was great anticipation as to how they would foreshadow the “pink romance” that would be seen in the drama.

However, according to videos and photos taken during the conference, the two stars were noticeably nervous and appeared to be trying to distance themselves from each other.

Reporters then asked them to stand next to each other, but the pair moved awkwardly, barely smiling and not making eye contact.

Apparently, while they received blessings and good wishes especially from their foreign fans, Koreans were against the couple’s relationship.

Their reasons involved Kim Wooseok’s military service on November 4, leaving Na Eon alone.

There were also those who blamed their 4-year age difference, but most of the criticism reportedly came from Wooseok’s Korean fans.

During the press conference, the two were aware of the matter and apologized to the public, with Kim Wooseok saying:

“We are sorry that we received attention due to our personal reasons before the drama. Moving forward, I want to give this drama as much strength as possible and show you the good side of myself as an actor.”
