On October 26, Kim Soo-mi’s son Jung Myung-ho, director of Napalkkot F&B, and her daughter-in-law, actress Seo Hyo-rim, shared through an interview with Yonhap News that Kim Soo-mi recently wrote a book called “Goodbye”.
Seo Hyo-rim said she called Kim Soo-mi “mom” and remembered her as a “soft-hearted person.” He added “Lately, mom has been very stressed and dealing with business issues” and said he tried to console her by telling her, “You can’t let this break you.“In response, Kim Soo-mi admitted”I feel the same thing in my heart, but my body just can’t keep up“, revealing his vulnerable side.
Jung Myung-ho also noted that Kim Soo-mi seemed to have been reflecting on her life lately, saying that there were many manuscripts at home and that the title of the book was “Goodbye.” She shared that Kim Soo-mi had left a message for her boyfriends, saying, “As someone who has lived her life as a supporting actress, I want to tell you: Even if you are struggling or in crisis, if you hang in there, this industry will reward you in the end. Never give up halfway.“
Meanwhile, Kim Soo-mi was found in cardiac arrest in her home on October 25 and was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead. He was 75 years old and the cause of death was reported as hyperglycemic shock. His wake will be held at the Funeral Hall of Hanyang University Hospital in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, and his funeral will take place on October 27 at 11:00 am. Celebrities including Yoo Jae-suk, actors Shin Hyun-joon, Yum Jung-ah, Park Eun-soo, Jo In-sung and couple Yoo Dong-geun and Jeon In-hwa visited the wake to pay their respects.
