Actor Seung Heon song introduced the “Frontier Award” before introducing itself as “an award given to artists who have shown a pioneering spirit by pushing the limits”.
The five-member group NewJeans, which debuted in 2022, not only caused a stir with every song released, but also made a significant impact on the cultural music industry, presenting a new paradigm for K-Pop. The members of NewJeans were full of their usual bright personalities as they made their way to the stage to accept the speech. Hyein: It’s a blessing to be able to do what we like in front of the people who love us… I don’t know why I keep crying! However, the five of us had no idea we would reunite like this. But we did it and now we are so special to each other. And we do everything we can to continue offering good performances. We are grateful to the people who help us do what we want. We accept this special gift and hope to continue creating special music for many people to enjoy every day. Thank you.
A clip from the awards ceremony, showing fellow NewJeans members comforting Hyein and supporting her during the speech, went viral, as K-Pop fans showered the girl group with words of encouragement.
