Idol will take a break during the police investigation

Following Yulhee’s confession regarding her divorce from Choi Minhwan, label FTISLAND shared that the idol will be taking a break from the entertainment scene while he is investigated for prostitute solicitation.

In a recent vlog, the former K-pop female idol discovered the truth behind her divorce from ex-husband Minhwan. She exposed his infidelity during the marriage, proving it with audio recordings of him arranging meetings with service girls through a middleman called “hyung.”

Subsequently, Sports Seoul confirmed that authorities from the Seoul Gangnam Police Station will launch an investigation against Choi Minhwan and the broker for allegedly violating South Korea’s Anti-Prostitution Law under Article 21.

This was after receiving complaints through the national petition. Under this law, if Minhwan is found guilty of facilitating prostitution, he could be imprisoned for one year and pay a fine of KRW 3 million ($2,160).

Following this news, FNC Entertainment, the idol’s agency, responded by announcing his hiatus.

“Although it is difficult for us to know further details about his marital problems as it is his private life, Choi Minhwan feels responsible for disappointing both the public and viewers and has decided to stop all his media activities, including broadcasts in which he appears with his children.”

This year, Minhwan with his three children joined KBS2’s “The Return of Superman”, but after about seven months he left the show due to his scandal.

Regarding his FTISLAND status, there are rumors that he should withdraw from the team to avoid tarnishing their image. On October 25, the team continued the concert in Taiwan, but Minhwan only performed as the drummer backstage.
