Cube Entertainment has responded to the latest news on Soyeon’s contract status.

On October 25, Xports News published an exclusive report revealing Soyeon’s decision not to renew her exclusive contract, which expires in November.

However, Cube noted information on hand, leading them to reveal that the agency is currently in talks with the leader of (G)I-DLE for a renewal.

“We are discussing a contract renewal with Jeon Soyeon,” Cube shared. “We will continue to carry out scheduled activities as planned.”

In August, Soyeon made headlines for her performance at (G)I-DLE’s “iDOL” concert in Seoul, where she performed a song that mentioned her contractual status in her rap verses. The idol continued, “My contract expires in November / No one can stop me / Who dares to say anything.”

The performance immediately led Cube to confirm that her contract had ended in November and that renewals were being discussed with the idol. He also added that the company already knew about Soyeon’s lyrics in advance.

Afterwards, Soyeon uploaded a statement to her Instagram Stories. The “Super Lady” singer made it clear that the sole purpose of her performance was to entertain her fans.

Soyeon added that she doesn’t have any hard feelings towards Cube Entertainment.
