The news came as a shock to K-Pop fans; like the rest SM Entertainment groups, RIIZE is not what they would associate with hip-hop. They are more pop, while NCT has a lot of hip-hop and rap, which the Rolling hard the public would expect.

Headliners include A$AP ROCKY, Lil WayneAND Playboy Books. The other technically K-Pop artists included are Jay Park, CLAND GOT7‘S BamBam. These three have discographies in the genre.
However, some netizens were alarmed by some RIIZE fans’ reactions to the news. Many were concerned that the tweets shared were rooted in anti-Black stereotypes.

Considering that one of the main reasons why Seunghan was punished was because he smoked a cigarette, many fans think it is ironic that RIIZE is performing at the festival. They called out SM Entertainment’s alleged hypocrisy.
