Netizens think some have gone too far.
Lately, BTS‘S Suga became the next idol targeted with a garland project.
Earlier this month, the announcement of the first RIIZE SeunghanThe resumption of schedules led to fan protests against his return. The largest of these protests was the handing out of hundreds of wreaths commonly associated with funerals.

Apparently inspired by the project, those who wanted Suga to leave BTS after his drunk driving scandal started a similar project outside MOVES.
While netizens shared that they found these protests against the wreaths disturbing, many were equally caught off guard by BTS fans’ reactions to the wreaths.
As expected, fans quickly defended Suga, finding ways to fill the protest area with support instead of hate.

Other fans’ reactions to the protests were shared on an online forum, where many disagreed with their methods.
One netizen collected examples of fans taking images of those allegedly involved in the protest and sharing them online uncensored, along with alleged information on social media.
The most shocking thing for many netizens was that some fans edited these images into funeral portraits.
Netizens debated these reactions, finding them unacceptable despite the circumstances.
- “Really crazy… That singer and his fans are just the same.”
- “They did this to normal people? If so, they’ve crossed the line, right? It’s crazy.”
- “Seriously, it’s crazy. Those international K-pop fans made a lot of fuss with funeral wreaths, but now they think there is no problem with using a normal person’s funeral portrait? I’m out of my mind. What are people doing, not calling them out?
- “They are simply taking random photos of women near the protest site, tagging large OT6 accounts and claiming that those people run those accounts. Trial? Of course there isn’t any. They are just robbing people at random and mobbing. But these types of posts are getting thousands of retweets, and it’s not just one or two.”
- “If this continues, won’t it ruin BTS’s image even more when they come back?”
- “It’s incredible. Why on earth are they doing this?
