“What’s up with Jessi?”

Jessi‘s image has taken a hit due to his alleged response to the reported assault of a fan.
According to a report by JTBCon September 29, a man approached Jessi to ask for a photo with the star. According to the 18-year-old victim, he was walking to a convenience store when he saw Jessi and approached her.
He was then reportedly attacked by a man in the group of people with Jessi, as captured on CCTV.

Jessi’s team said they will cooperate with the investigation, but netizens have already criticized the star for her alleged response.
Videos shortly after the initial attack appear to show Jessi walking away from the scene while another woman in her group actively tries to separate the alleged perpetrator from the victim.
The official report also states that they left the scene and reportedly stated that they did not know the victim when approached by him and the police. Later, the victim’s mother went to Jessi’s company and was told that the perpetrator was Chinese, did not know Jessi and was friends with a manufacturer.
The victim also said she contacted the producer, who apologized but offered no further information about the alleged perpetrator. The victim stated that the producer contacted him again on the 11th, reiterating that Jessi did not know the person and giving them instructions”to stop contacting and threatening Jessi.“
Although the company said it would cooperate and adequately compensate the victim if the situation warranted, netizens criticized Jessi and her company for their overall response.
- “The man she attacked is the main problem, but Jessi left after seeing her own fan get attacked right in front of her?”
- “Someone in your group attacked someone right in front of you and you left?”
- “If you saw a stranger being beaten on the street, at the very least you would call the police. But someone approached her as a fan, got beat up, and she went drinking?”
- “What’s up with Jessi? Not only did she leave the scene, but when the victim and the police came looking for her, why didn’t she cooperate? Even though she just met the attackers that day, there is still a process of how she ended up with them. He should have told the police that they were acquaintances of the producer. Why did he hide it and cover them up? At this point Jessi is complicit in the attack.”
- “Her (older) student fan was attacked by someone in her group, and she left without reporting it and went back to drinking? And he didn’t even collaborate in the capture of the attacker? Wow, what kind of personality is this?”
- “Jessi may not be directly at fault, but her fan was attacked by her group for no reason, and instead of checking to see if she was okay, she left quietly to avoid getting involved and went back to drinking. It’s understandable why people are disappointed.”
- “What? It wasn’t even a fight; the fan was attacked out of nowhere! Even if the attacker wasn’t his personal friend, they were still part of his group. He should have intervened or at least helped afterwards. How can he leave for going to drink? And on top of that he didn’t even help catch the attacker? This is unbelievable.”
