It has become increasingly common for K-Pop idols to collaborate with Western artists on songs and releases. BTS’ Jungkook has done this on several occasions, including with American artists Milk AND Usher.
However, it is usually the more established groups or those with the backing of a major label that can afford this type of functionality.
A group of guys are changing that with their second comeback ever!
In October 2023, the boy group POW officially debuted with “Amazing”.
The group’s debut attracted the attention of many thanks to its lineup, which included the Thai actor Yorkformer member of Trainee AAND Dongyeonwho competed Strong.
Since then, the group has released a single album and a pre-release single ahead of their upcoming second mini-album.
On October 8, it was revealed that the album would be titled Fiancé and be released on October 21st.
In addition to that, the tweet also stated that the title was a reimagined remake Avril LavigneIt’s “Girlfriend”. Avril Lavigne is a Canadian singer-songwriter who contributed to pop-punk music in the 2000s.
Not only will the track be a remake, but Avril Lavigne and the original writers worked with the group on the release!
