Recently, 2NE1’s Dara (also known as Sandara Park), posted an SNS update with the caption “YG Family” and included several photos taken after and during 2NE1’s recent reunion concert.
However, while the photos included artists both currently under YG and those who have left the agency, photos taken with BLACKPINK’s Jennie, who attended the concert and showed enthusiastic support for 2NE1, were not included.
This raised speculation that Dara had excluded Jennie from his “YG Family” idea, leading to heavy criticism from BLACKPINK fans.
Notably, in retweets with quotes on Dara’s original post, several comments express frustration with Dara, such as: “YG must have the worst seniors in the industry. Because how is it possible that a rival company’s SNSD (Girls’ Generation) acted more like senior than BP (BLACKPINK)” AND “The entire company is jealous of BLACKPINK’s success as a group and as solo artists”, you can see.
Some fans defended Dara, stating that Jennie’s exclusion was likely inadvertent, while some believed that the photos with Jennie included staff members from her new agency, Odd Atelier, and therefore should be excluded from a post about the “YG Family “.
However, others insisted that there are photos of Jennie with 2NE1 that do not include Odd Atelier staff members and continued to criticize Dara.
